Irises slow start

I was flipping through some pictures from last year at this time, and noticed that my irises are quite behind compared to where they were this time last year. We transplanted several hundred irises all over the yard last year when we made space for the new beds and squash arch. I’m the transplanted irises look kind of peaked, but at least there are signs of fresh growth:
