Galatians – Ephesians

Impossibly, it snowed again Sunday night into Monday.  The weather was so poor that the other teacher and I canceled Monday’s Seminary Sunday night, well before the school canceled.  School was completely out on Monday and on two-hour delay Tuesday, so I only got to teach two lessons this week.  We have missed an entire week of class this month due to snow days.  It’s March — crazy! Unfortunately we missed out on Fruits of the Spirit and Introduction to Galatians, so I don’t have anything really to report on those.  I may do Fruits of the Spirit later on a Free day, but we are now 3/4 finished with the year, and there isn’t likely to be much time.…

1 Corinthians 15 – 2 Corinthians 13

Yes, we really did read all these chapters in a single week.  My kids rule. 1 Corinthians 15-16 I was super excited about this lesson because of the three scripture mastery passages in 1 Corinthians 15, but it snowed.  In March.  AGAIN.  So we missed out on my lesson.  I had planned to open with a discussion of the Law of Witnesses and how it relates to missionary work (establishes the Word), and then I was going to teach students that the 3 scripture masteries in 1 Corinthians 15 are essential for missionaries.  One teaches the Plan of Salvation in three sentences, the other teaches baptism for the dead, and the other teaches degrees of glory.  I would explain the…

But last year and this, I start to catch up with other teachers in March — just in time for the more difficult chapters. :-/ Our seminary year starts the first full week after Labor day and continues to the last week in May. This has been a painful week for me because of daylight savings time.  In addition to getting up at what feels like an hour…

Snowquester Seminary – Romans 9-11

The “Snowquester” has resulted in the cancellation of Seminary for three days this week.  I’ve enjoyed getting a little bit of a break, though it’s too bad that we missed some of our March Madness fun.  I posted in our FB group that anyone who posted pictures of what they did in the snow could earn 100 points for their group, and here’s a sampling of what was posted: Yes, that is a snow Dalek. :-)  LOL. Romans 9-10 For Romans 9-10 I gave zones a few minutes to work together to write their very best definition of the word foreordination.  I gave March Madness points to the zone that came up with the best definition.  They did an extraordinary job…
