Full plate

It’s the day I work all spring for, and it happened incredibly EARLY this year! I had enough ripe tomatoes to make a full plate of tomatoes — enough for a delicious meal (made luxurious by finishing with a brick of Honey Mama’s Ginger Cardamom chocolate I got at the Fredericksburg Food Coop). Tomatoes include Juliet, Stupice, Black Krim, Dancign with Smurfs, David Haas Pennsylvania Pink Plum, Kellogg’s Brrakfast, Lemon Boy, and there may be an Early Girl in there, too.

I used my new Williams-Sonoma tomato slicer — which, incidentally, is AMAZING — cracked some pepper and salt on the top and then and drizzled some balsamic glaze on half of the tomatoes. I’d have put basil and Mozarella or Feta if I’d had some, but it didn’t matter. These tomatoes were divine without them.

It was a good day
