“Dream” Relief Provided in LouisianaMore than 1,400 Mormons from six surrounding states converged on southern Louisiana September 27 to help Houma residents dig out from the aftermath of two September hurricanes. Hailing from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee, they joined volunteers from the Realizing the Dream Foundation, the AFL-CIO, and local churches and groups.

[News from around the Church]

My brother, from the MS Jackson Stake, was at this event. He says it was an amazing event. Families who hadn’t been in a church in years were so touched that they were remembered and that the church came to check on and help them. Some said they’d be back at church. This type of service is a blessing in the lives of those served, and the serve-ers.

About Jenny Smith

I'm Jenny Smith. I keep up with three cars, two kids, one husband, and I live on 300+ acres of rolling farmland in Northern Virginia where we look after an elderly relative. I like tomatoes, all things Star Trek, watercolor, and reading. I spend most days in the garden fighting deer and groundhogs as I pursue a graduate degree. I'm trying to be like Jesus -- emphasis on the trying.
