The garden is still producing

I went out to the garden today, and picked another 15 or so tomatoes. None is much larger than a ping pong ball, but I still have them in several different colors. The grape tomatoes are looking better and getting larger again now that it has cooled off and I have been watering more regularly. The tomatoes in the asparagus…

Peas, please

I went to Meadow Farms and finally found sugar snap pea seeds! Lowe’s didn’t have them, nor did Target. I also picked up some kale seeds and some snow pea seeds. I’ll plant the snow peas on the other side of the trellis next week — I hope they will grow up okay even with the pole beans already growing…

Flood damage

I’m tired of gardening!!! It’s been five months of pretty steady labor and heat, and I’m getting tired. I’m so sick of gardening I didn’t even want to pick tomatoes at Del’s on Friday. It was 75 degrees, sunshiney, and all of my roses are now in full bloom. So beautiful! Sadly, I think I scared off the bird that’s made this…

Beans in

I finally received the beans from that guy I found online. The garden was sopping wet near the bean trellis after the rains — standing water like a pond. So I bought some garden soil to build up that area today, and I put the beans I soaked and inoculated in today. I’ve put in Garden of Eden and Sieva.…
