My first sub….

I came down with a terrible sore throat and fever late yesterday afternoon, and so my husband subbed for me this morning in Seminary. The topic was the first of two sections of the plan of salvation. It was easy for him as a returned missionary to step in. I had already divided the board into three sections: premortal, mortal, and postmortal. I also stuck post it notes with words like fall, creation, resurrection, birth, war in heaven, outer darkness, death, celestial glory, paradise, spirit prison, etc, underneath each of the chairs in the room. My lesson opener was to introduce the material and then have the kids look under their seats to get their post it and stick it…

Plan of Salvation Part Deux and Education the Key to Opportunity

GREAT NEWS!!! The county transportation department was able to find transportation on a bus for our kids, and now the Seminary students will be able to ride the bus from my house to school each morning! Now all the mommies have to do is get the kids here, and the kids’ ride to school is taken care of. What a blessing for the families! Brother and Sister Dingess brought over the tables and chairs last night, so I’m all set now for class. Tomorrow we really will need tables (making scripture mastery posters), so I’m glad that the tables are here for that lesson. God had mercy on me today, and all of the kids were in their seats at…

Plan of Salvation

Today was plan of salvation. When I was planning for the lesson today, it became apparent that we were not going to be able to cover the plan in any depth in just one day. Guess the lesson pacing schedule was right after all :) Next year we will spend 2 days on plan of salvation for sure. We spent today’s time in discussion and doing a few glue-ins for our journals. I had planned to have them move into preparing to teach the PofS, but the discussion was kind of somber and we ended up with only a few minutes anyway.
