This golden ruler is intended to remind your students to be Kind to others by reminding them to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
A supplement to the Sharing Time July week 2 2012 idea.
Lindsey E. “Prior to the lesson I created a poster with this saying on it, “Make your words soft and sweet because you may have to eat them.” All of the words were hand-written except for ‘soft’ which was written with mini marshmallows and ‘sweet’ which was written with sugar (you can use sugar cubes).
“I attached this hand out to a mini sandwich bag which contained some tiny marshmallows and a little bit of sugar so the girls would remember it.”

This adorable Lip Gloss Gift/Poem came from M’Shelle D. Her activity days class made home made lip gloss and then had a lesson on kindness.
This could make a great unity activity for Young Women (probably in the Beehive age group) or even could be used as a Personal Progress motivator because of the mention of the values.

LIP GLOSS POEM
I have this pot of lip gloss,
I’ll put some on each day.
I do it to remind me
To choose the words I say.
I’ll try to speak with kindness
to everyone I meet.
I’ll try to spread some happiness
to those that I may greet.
This pot of gloss reminds me
of the values I hold dear,
The colors are so cheerful
and the message is so clear.
If I want to live the gospel
I’ll choose each word I say
I’ll speak in just the kindest words
and I won’t forget to pray!
I created this image to go with YW Manual 2 Lesson 8, though it could be used for a number of situations.
