New Beginnings Court

Jen F. shared this cute script for a new beginnings court trial. Basically each girl is brought up to “testify” of some of her experiences living the gospel and young women’s values. This is a good way to get to know the girls, spotlight the good things they’re doing, and makes for an fun activity.

I think this would also make a great standards night and could be altered to be used with the Young Men as well.

Jen says, “Here is the NB program we did. For the invitations we sent each girl a … Court Summons to be opened with their parents. When they arrived we “booked” each girl and posted [the mugshots in the foyer] after the activity. We gave each girl a ‘sentencing assistance kit’ that had the new cd with music centered around the new theme, a block with the new theme printed on it, a small bottle of water, some crackers, and a nail file (can’t be in jail with out a file :). Everyone seemed to have a good time. The real secret to it’s success is to find the right people to play the parts, and we did. Hope this helps someone.”
